When a time for a change in lifestyle was needed, Ray and Brenda didn’t believe that running an Olive Grove would be in their future plans. But this is exactly what happened, purchasing Kakariki Olives from its previous owners of 20 years. Moving forward, the Gregory family work hard to produce exceptional fruit, the result being a premium, award-winning Extra Virgin Olive Oil. They are custodians of over 3,200 trees that thrive in the clay soils and the famous warm and sunny climate that the Nelson/Tasman region is so famous for. A Family Business
Ray and Brenda work closely with family and seasonal contractors to prune and harvest the fruit. The olives are pressed using an on-site olive press, allowing full control over the production process – from farm to plate. With a passion for crafting pure New Zealand Olive Oil, Kakariki Olives are specialists in the Tuscan Frantoio and Leccino varietals. The olives are carefully harvested, and within 24hrs are pressed, and blended to produce premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil for your enjoyment. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is great for everyday cooking, as a dip for fresh bread, drizzled over vegetables, pasta, and salads. Our citrus infusions are perfect for cooking seafood.

Awards & Certifications
Kakariki Olives will always display a certification label. This certification is proof and guarantee that the product is the highest standard and quality of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. To qualify for the Olives New Zealand Certification, New Zealand olive oil must meet specific requirements including bottling and labelling standards and chemical and sensory criteria. All criteria are based on the International Olive Council (IOC) standards for Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
